Kaumātua Grants
Kaumātua Grants are now available for Shareholders, Trustees and Beneficiaries of a registered Whanau Trust held with Māori Investments Limited.
To be eligible the individual must be 65 years or over.
All eligible individuals are required to apply each year as these grants are not automatic submissions.
Each individual must provide the following as a requirement of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML).
- Confirmation of Residential Address
- Confirmation of Bank Account
- Photographic ID confirming your date of birth (not individual portraits)
- IRD Number
As we age our circumstances change and personal details may alter. To ensure we have the most recent details on file, we are adhering to the AML Act by regularly checking your details. So please advise us if your circumstances or details change.
Kaumātua Grants and Trusts
For those who are associated with a registered Whanau Trust of MIL the above criteria will apply with the addition of providing your Whakapapa to that Trust or Shareholder. Each beneficiary/trustee will require the registered Administrator (as stated on our files) of that Trust to endorse that the information you have provided is true and correct by signing the ‘Verification Declaration/Administrator Details’ section of the application form.
For those applying online, you will need to enter the full details of your registered Administration (as stated on our files). Staff will then send this section to be verified by the listed Administrator.
Please know that only the registered Administrator (as stated on our files) of the trust can sign/verify this section as they hold the right to cast votes and receive all pānui distributed to shareholders. If this is not signed/verified by the registered Administrator (as stated on our files), the application may be returned or forfeited. So please be aware of this to avoid any delays. If you are unsure of who holds the Administrator status, please contact your whanau.
